I know a lot of people didn't like the Caster Chronicles but I did. I love it. It was nice to hear Ethan's voice in my head again. Also, Link and Ridley are my favorites next to Ethan!!!

A Dangerous Dream

And also, I loved this part Don't worry, Link, you are too! Looking forward to what will happen to my "old friends"! Dangerous Dream is a novella intended to introduce readers to the Dangerous Creatures series, without having to have read the popular Beautiful Creatures series. The premise of the story is right up my street - packed with dark supernatural beings, and given that this book is only around 35 pages long, this should have been a very enjoyable quick read For the first time in an incredibly long while I did not enjoy any aspect of this work.

There were too many characters who were mentioned but who did not actually have any active part in this story. None of them seemed to gel or stir any interest or sympathy in me as a reader.

I also found the writing style arduous, and I was left feeling that vast amounts of words were used to convey the least amount of information. It lacked pace. Unfortunately, Dangerous Dream has not only completely failed to engage me and spur me to purchase either series, it has in fact achieved the opposite and deterred me from reading anything further from these authors.

Dec 18, Kribu rated it liked it Shelves: read-in , young-adult , short-story. I'm not a fan of short stories, as a rule. However, I've got the impression that this serves as a useful prequel to Dangerous Creatures - the brand new spin-off to the Beautiful Creatures series, which I, against every expectation, ended up enjoying an awful lot - so I figured I'd give it a go. This definitely does have more of a prequel feeling than an autonomous short story. I don't think it'd make a lot of sense to anyone who hasn't read the original series; as it was, it took me some time to I'm not a fan of short stories, as a rule.

Also, as much as I've been looking forward to this spin-off, Ridley and Link were not my favourite characters in the original series, so one focusing just on them We'll see. Feb 04, Cathy rated it liked it Shelves: ebook-library-available , magic-users , romance , young-adult , paranormal , read-in , urban , fantasy. More a prequel to the new series than a genuine short story in and of itself.

It's definitely not a story that could stand on its own two feet in any way. But it served its purpose to tease the new series. Ridley's always been a fun character, full of that push-pull that was kept her interesting. We'll see if the new series will work in New York since the South was so much of what made the first series successful. It could be the shot in the arm it needs, the other books were never as good after More a prequel to the new series than a genuine short story in and of itself.

It could be the shot in the arm it needs, the other books were never as good after the first one. Some good elements were introduced here. Jun 30, Majanka rated it really liked it Shelves: paranormal-romance , young-adult , fantasy , reviews-june The best part of this novella is that it featured Ridley and Link. I really don't like Ridley and don't care what she does. I give up. Dec 06, Jordan Tolbert marked it as to-read. I have been begging for a spin off series since I finished the series last May!

Dec 20, Darcy rated it liked it Shelves: ya , e-book , short-stories , magic , Ridley is my favorite character in this series, but often her mouth gets her in trouble. With this one she does just that. I liked seeing her bested, she needs to be taken down a peg, her ego is too big.

I am intrigued by what Ridley found out and to see where things go in the new series. Dec 05, Nasiba marked it as to-read. View all 6 comments. Ridley, on the other hand, is a dark caster: using her sexuality to get what she wants — usually all the attention in the room. An interesting approach to introduce the world as the four try to separate from Gatlin and move into adulthood with all of the challenges, changing loyalties and new adventures to come. 20 Common Dreams And What They Could Mean

Detailed Review: I received a copy of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review First, I must say I loved The Caster Chronicles and to have another series related to it, is just awesome! Ridley's one of my favourite bad characters because of the fact that she actually has a vulnerable side to her that balances her bad-girl demeanour. Also knowing that she loves her cousin Lena makes me warm inside because it just proves the saying: 'In Darkness there is Light, and in Light there is Darkness'. The story starts from Ethan's point of view, during his graduation, and Ridley, as usual stirred up some trouble.

I honestly love reading scenes like this! It's just so funny, watching girls like Emily and Savannah scream and react to Ridley's red lollipop charms. And then the romance.

Dangerous Dreams (Video ) - IMDb

I find the relationship between Link Ethan's best friend and Ridley very nerve-wracking sometimes, but that's the fun of it. Ridley always tries her best to put up her tough-girl exterior but then Link always manages to break through. It just fascinates me how much magic magic more powerful than the magic of a Dark Caster love can work on someone. This book is actually giving you a brief look into the newest series related to Casters, Dangerous Creatures. It tells the beginning of a story where Ridley went too far and took a risk too many which could put the ones she loves and herself in danger.

This series will definitely lead us deeper into the world of the Dark Casters than the Caster Chronicles ever could. And fair warning: there may be a love triangle coming at you. I could sense it while reading the last few chapters. There was a hot guy in the story. You really should read The Caster Chronicles before starting this series so you know how the romance between and Link and Ridley started and fared throughout the series. Besides, it's a great series you shouldn't miss! Brief Review: Once again, Stohl and Garcia didn't fail to impress me with this new series.

My advice to you is Read with caution. There may be Dark Casters ready to jump at you from the darkest corners. Ridley's not the only Dark one now. This series is not one you should miss if you loved the Caster Chronicles!
